Back in 1969, while driving across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco to my home in Mill Valley, I often stopped on the oceanfront in Sausalito. Perched upon the rocky shore and looking out across the bay, the picturesque view of the San Francisco skyline, multi-colored sailboats and rhythmic beat of the sea would grasp my attention for hours.
