When the old head wears out, use the replacement heads until the handle wears out. These are high quality nylon brushes with full "end rounding" and polishing of the bristles: a critical step which ensures that there are no rough bristle ends to harm the gums or the enamel. Nylon bristles are generally clear or white in color.
