Horsetail Herb is designed from Horsetail grass also known as a Equisetum arvensel. Equisetum is a genus of vascular plants that reproduce by spores rather than seeds. The genus includes 15 species. Dr. Christopher's Horsetail Grass contains high concentrations of silicic acid and other silicates. Horsetail also contains potassium, aluminum, and manganese, along with variety of flavonoids. The silicates found in horsetail are believed responsible for the herb's ability to strengthen connective tissue and give it anti-arthritic actions.

Horsetail Herb is a non-flowering, fern-like plant whose name derives from its tail appearance in the spring. The whole plants or the stems of horsetail have been used since ancient times as an oral and topical remedy traditionally used of the abrasive stems to scrub utensils and pots. Horsetail Herb is used to help alleviate the symptoms of arthritis. It is often taken for its mild diuretic and astringent properties to help treat kidney and bladder ailments, such as urinary tract infections. Horsetail may benefit recovery from prostate problems, such as benign enlargement of the prostate gland.
