Soothes & Relieves:

The hydrocolloid cold sore bandage adheres to the lip, covering exposed nerve endings thereby providing soothing relief and physical protection from bacteria and contaminants. The cold sore patch is latex-free to help prevent irritation.

Stop Contagious Spread:

Covering a cold sore with our bandage can stop the contagious cold sore virus from spreading to others through direct contact or contact with items you use such as towels, silverware, straws, etc.

Prevents Irritating or Contaminating Your Cold Sore

The cold sore patch bandage prevents you from touching the open sore with your lips, tongue or fingers and irritating or contaminating the sore.

Tip! The Lip Clear Invisible Bandage can be used alone or in conjunction with Lip Clear Lysine+ ointment to treat the cold sore. Apply the ointment directly to the sore as directed. Wait 30 minutes. Then apply the bandage. Lip Clear Lysine+ ointment has been clinically shown to cut cold sore healing time in half.

How to mask the cold sore with makeup:

Putting makeup on an exposed cold sore, especially when it's a scab, is very difficult and not good for the sore. The Lip Clear Bandage creates a clean, hygienic surface and takes makeup very well.

First! Don't infect the sore or spread the virus! Before applying makeup, wash your hands so you don't infect the sore. Don't contaminate the makeup - put the makeup you intend to use on the back of your hand.

Over the bandage apply either a base foundation or a tinted moisturizer. Then apply concealer where needed. Pat in with fingertips to blend and melt into the patch and surrounding area. For a fresh and natural look of lip color, pat in lip color to get a bit of a stain on lips. To set color apply a single layer of tissue over the area -- gently brush and press loose powder in to seal in the first layer of color. Remove tissue and apply another layer of lip color--this will help the lipstick stay on all day.

Note - if you use a stick style lipstick, pat the color on; do not wipe the stick across your lips.

Directions:

Apply at the first sign of cold sore symptoms (tingling, itching or pain).

  1. Wash the infected area with soap and water and pat dry.
  2. Tear plastic release liner along perforation.
  3. Remove bandage from liner. Apply to cold sore.
  4. Mold bandage to cold sore by gently smoothing with finger.

Each bandage lasts for hours. There is no need to remove or change the bandage as long as it stays on. When the bandage starts to peel off, replace it with a new bandage. If you need to remove the bandage, stretch it gently along the skin instead of pulling it away.
