Turmeric is quite versatile. In North American cuisine, it is used to flavor artichokes, potatoes, tea, eggs, fish and pickled vegetables. Related to Ginger, Turmeric has a peculiar fragrant, bitter, acrid odor and rich color. It is used extensively in Indian food and curries.
