About The Lazy Dog Cookie Co.
In 2001, Amy Augustine combined her love for dogs with her entrepreneurial spirit to launch The Lazy Dog Cookie Co. Initially, Amy began with a recipe, her home oven and a few ideas. Using her B.S. degree in Biology and her knowledge as a vegetarian, Amy developed the human-grade treats for dogs using a unique soft baked recipe (Wheat, Corn & Soy Free) and strict quality control procedures. Research, including work with Veterinarians, was also an important aspect of product development to integrate ingredients into recipes that were not only tasty for dogs, but also highly beneficial. Having been a long-time vegetarian and possessing a great empathy for all creatures, Amy wanted her treats to be animal friendly as well.
Having left their home kitchen behind, Lazy Dog is now located in a 13,000 square foot facility in Ballston Spa, New York and their treats are being gobbled up by dogs around the world!
