Garden Cookies Make & Grow Kit

Mud pies may be a childhood favorite, but really they're not much more than a mess. But combine earthy ingredients, water, and some sweet, retro styling, and you get a creative, educational project that parents and children can share.

Taking its cue from 50s-era kitchens, this kit will have your delighted little ones whipping up a batch of "seed cookies". Junior bakers will enjoy mixing up the ingredients--organic soil and organic clay packaged in reusable cloth pouches, and a packet of seeds--rolling the dough on the gingham-print, vinyl mat, and cutting out tiny shapes with the cookie cutters. The easy, step-by-step instructions are printed out on a recipe card. Rather than baking them, simply leave the cookies out to dry overnight. These treats aren't too tasty, but plant them in a garden, and soon they'll sprout flowers that will provide the sweet nectar preferred by butterflies and hummingbirds.
