Pepper is North-America's most popular spice and can be sprinkled on any food where a little spice is desired. Pepper berries come from a woody, climbing vine and grow in spike-like clusters. Immature berries are harvested, fermented and dried. In earlier times (1000 B.C. to 1000 A.D) Pepper was so valuable that it was used as a currency, like gold.
