An aromatic herb related to marjoram, oregano is Greek for "joy of the mountain". Its hot peppery flavour became popular after World War II when servicemen returned with a taste for pizza. Best known as a flavouring in tomato sauce, oregano also enhances cheese and egg dishes, vegetables, meats, poultry, and shellfish. Sprinkle Oregano and crushed chillies onto pizza for a zesty bite!
